  14. I have several minor (but annoying) problems on the system 7.0.1 
  15. with tuneup I'd like  to find answers. All of the problems won't go 
  16. away after re-installation of the system software or with extensions
  17. off.  The disk was formatted with Hard disk Toolkit PE.

  19. 1) "By Label" won't work, and it becomes "Get Info."
  20. I cannot use "By Label" for "View" on Finder. When I choose it, the view
  21. won't change and I get the info box of the folder if the folder is my 
  22. current view. It won't do anything if a hard disk is my top view. All 
  23. the other views work. (By name, by date,.....)

  25. 2) "Get Info" won't work on "hard disk" and "Trash."
  26. "Get Info" won't work on the hard disk and trash, but works on folders.
  27. But it's strange that I could "get info" from the aliases of the Hard drive 
  28. and Trash.

  30. 3) Color Switch and Finder redraw.
  31. I liked using "Color Switch" to change monitor settings, but I found one
  32. very irritating desktop redraw recently. It would redraw the desktop
  33. everytime I change the color depth. It takes 3-4 seconds on my machine.
  34. I don't remember seeing this when I first started using it. Is there any
  35. known conflict between Color Switch and other extensions. I felt that
  36. SpeedyFinder could be the reason, but I was not completely sure.

  38. 4) BeHierarchic problem?
  39. I used create a alias for hard disk or a folder and put it in Apple menu 
  40. items, so that I could access the folder hierarchically from Apple menu 
  41. with the help of BeHierarchic. It works fine. But everytime I have a crash 
  42. and when I restart the Mac, it takes far longer time to show the desktop 
  43. after the CDEVs, extensions are loaded. After the loading of extensions, 
  44. I see my external hard disk (200Mb) flashes for 30 seconds to 1 mintues, 
  45. then my internal (80Mb) flashes another 30 seconds. After these two 
  46. steps, my hard disk redraws the desktop (antoher 10 seconds). It dries 
  47. me crazy. I suspect that BeHierachic need to update the folder info after
  48. a crash. It doesn't happen again after I remove the CDEV. Is there a 
  49. good substitute for BeHierarchic? I really like the hierarchical menu but
  50. I hate to wait so long after the crash.
