  11. Greetings. I am a programmer who is fairly new to the Mac but who
  12. has many years of C programming experience behind him. I'm looking
  13. for a Mac book that goes beyond the introductory stage, into *advanced*
  14. programming. I have _Using_the_Macintosh_Toolbox_with_C_, which is
  15. nice, but doesn't go far enough. Specifically, what I'd like to do
  16. is have a window containing a color picture that uses a palette other
  17. than the system palette, that scrolls properly with scroll bars, whilst
  18. the user clicks and drags irregularly-shaped pieces of the picture, which
  19. show outlines and rubber bands as they drag, scrolling the picture
  20. appropriately if the user drags outside the window, and... but you get
  21. the idea. A basic book just isn't going to cut it. Any recommendations?

  23. Oh, one other thing... my budget is limited, so I can't run out and buy
  24. the whole _Inside_Mac_ just yet. I've heard there's an electronic version
  25. available... can anyone confirm/deny this?
