- Greetings. I am a programmer who is fairly new to the Mac but who
- has many years of C programming experience behind him. I'm looking
- for a Mac book that goes beyond the introductory stage, into *advanced*
- programming. I have _Using_the_Macintosh_Toolbox_with_C_, which is
- nice, but doesn't go far enough. Specifically, what I'd like to do
- is have a window containing a color picture that uses a palette other
- than the system palette, that scrolls properly with scroll bars, whilst
- the user clicks and drags irregularly-shaped pieces of the picture, which
- show outlines and rubber bands as they drag, scrolling the picture
- appropriately if the user drags outside the window, and... but you get
- the idea. A basic book just isn't going to cut it. Any recommendations?
-
- Oh, one other thing... my budget is limited, so I can't run out and buy
- the whole _Inside_Mac_ just yet. I've heard there's an electronic version
- available... can anyone confirm/deny this?
