- If I remember correctly we placed the Pearl version of MCL on the
- Developer CD long time ago, but it's no longer there. The one and only
- supported version if Macintosh Common Lisp, available from APDA,
- and it's a pretty complete Common Lisp/CLOS implentation (OK, I admit,
- many of the MOP parts are missing). So you don't need an expensive
- UNIX workstation for LISP hacking. The product nowadays also includes
- a really nice CD with a lot of PD software so you will learn the tricks
- of how to use MCL for application development work.
-
- You should find plenty of PD LISP and Scheme versions out there
- if you are not interested to purchase MCL. For instance, the latest Gambit
- version seems to be pretty snappy, and it has a provision to call toolbox
- calls. Then again I have not used Gambit extensively for MacOS work, I
- use it for running Thomas (the Dylan emulation package).
