- Well, you must not get out much. The 128K was just enough technology to be
- useful. With 512K, you could run Excel, which for years was the only platform
- to run this spreadsheet -- an excellent business tool.

- Plus came out. The Plus featured something the 512K lacked -- expandability.
- You could add memory and a hard disk easily.

- The now-lowly Plus was the top of the Macintosh line for over a year, and
- businesses snapped them up at a furious rate. Even after the SE and II came
- out in '87, the Plus still sold at a rapid rate up until it was discontinued
- in October of 1990. Indeed, the 68K toaster line (Plus, SE and Classic)
- comprise the largest segment of the Macintosh installed base. (Although that
- is starting to skew now that they are no longer sold, and the LC is the
- hottest seller)
