- I tried using SpeedBeep 2.0 recently, and it didn't work -- the
- "Status" button reported that it had been installed, but something
- else has changed the way your Macintosh beeps since then,' so it
- wouldn't do its thing.
-
- After a lot of init-swapping and rebooting, I traced the problem to
- the Disinfectant INIT 2.9. SpeedBeep works when this INIT is not
- loaded, but does not work when it is loaded. This is especially odd
- because [1] Disinfectant shouldn't be messing with SysBeep() and [2]
- it loads _before_ SpeedBeep, anyway.
-
- Has anybody else seen this problem? I'd like to be able to use
- SpeedBeep to solve the annoying problem of my Mac halting everything
- else it's doing just to beep at me, but I don't want to give up
- Disinfectant.
