-
- I think a more flexible way of expandability would be necessery. NoOne
- should
- by more than he needs, but if he needs it like 24 Bit on a 21'' screen than
- he should have the possibility to but some silicon (VRAM) into the machine
- and than its it. So all important things which are sensible to I/O should
- be upgradable on the motherboard and not via NuBus (Which also can be an
- option because many people don't need it.)

- There will be a $100 Unix on CD in the next 2 months, but this is only
- interesting for institutions which have allready got a BSD license. But
- the price is good - or isn't it?
-
- What's about a power manager which can shutdown the monitor if it isn't
- used
- (best screen saver as it saves power, electric live and don't disturbs
- quickdraw!)
-
- A more flexible powersupply which will cut noise and powerconsumption if
- the computer doesn't need the power.
-
- How about the possibility about a waking routine which can wake up the
- computer at a specified time, or if the modem port rings or if someone
- speaks into the phone...
-
- how about a capsulated Hard disk case in the quadra. The beast can be much
- more silent and the air flow should be more accurate.
-
- Whats about scalable processors. Upgrade a chipset to a higher frequency
- without the need for a additional accelerator board would be much cheaper
- than swapping the Q700/900 board to Q800/950 (if possible).
-
- Q700 should have 8 real simm slots!!
-
- A ROM or or static RAM slot should be available to have more of the most
- sensible parts of system 7 on board. Booting in minifinder or something
- like that should be possible. (as long as you don't have a c:> prompt!)
-
- Perhaps the product name shouldn't change as often as it does today.
- Wouldn't it be a good idea to end up with the year number?
-
- Hey the SCSI port of the new Macs are really sensible. Why don't include
- a public test tool to fight against cabeling problems? And if they
- are so sensible why don't use synchronous operations, FAST SCSI,
- Connect/Reconnect, SCSI 2 and so on. I thought quadra was a high end
- mashine and not the LC of 1994 (or will it be?)!
-
- Just some little flames
