- I also had a similar problem with Elek-tek in Illinois.
-
- I ordered a caculator and $50 worth of printer ribbons from them. Months
- after my check was cashed I had never seen anything.
-
- After a long pursuit I found that they had shipped my stuff to "Jim Canahn"
- at the correct academic department address. My last name is Graham. Obviously
- this was a computer error, and without the correct spelling, the package had
- no way of reaching the correct mailbox. Elek-Tek would not accept
- responsibility for the error, and were satisfied that they "had a signature"
- from our central receiving department.
-
- After about $20 worth of phone calls, a representative was starting to crack,
- I called again to find she had quit the company. Rather than start again with
- another rep (drone), I ate the $50.
-
- Bottom line: Elek-Tek didn't care that a customer never recieved the goods
- he had paid for, even after an error on their part was found in the shiiping
- records.
-
- This is not a reputable company in my experience. Now I can understand how
- they are able to offer prices which undercut their competitors.
