- The latest version of StuffIt (3.0.3) now contains a UNIX Compress (file.Z)
- translator. Still, MacCompress has a place on my hard disk: it is faster
- than starting up StuffIt Deluxe (I suppose a really smart person would have
- it on all the time, if one downloads/uploads as much as I do! :-),
- automatically removes "file.Z" and replaces it with the uncompressed "file".
- It can decompress a folder at a time, so you can get all your .Z files to
- your mac and then decompress them in one fell swoop.
-
- A nice feature in StuffIt 4 would be to unify the code for translators,
- and make them available to magic menu. Then, any compressed file the SD
- knows about can be expanded with one key press (or menu choice), i.e., the
- Magic Menu Expand File. What could be sweeter than that?

- PS Who beside myself misses the "UnStuff..." DA that was taken out of
- StuffIt Deluxe 3? Speak up!
