  18. It may be too late for this. An Apple employee explained to a group of network
  19. managers here the other day that they had made the product managers for various
  20. products responsible for showing a profit for their product, resulting in
  21. things like $150,000 site licenses for MacX. He implied, however, that pricing
  22. had been taken out of the managers' hands because of the uproar and that
  23. large-site pricing policy would be set at some higher level than that of the
  24. product managers.

  26. Nothing was said about when any of this might occur. Details were as sketchy 
  27. as they always are when an Apple employee wearing a tie speaks in public.
  28. (Often the same person, caught one-on-one without his tie, will tell you
  29. anything off the record if he knows you. Too bad my university doesn't have an
  30. Apple rep any more.)
