  14. My brother is having trouble with his brand new PB100 battery.  As soon as
  15. he unplugs the charger, the battery indicators (he has 3 of them) all drop a
  16. notch, or sometimes two, instead of showing that he retains a full charge.
  17. He also is only getting about 40 minutes of use (with conservative power
  18. habits) before he gets his first low-battery warning message.

  20. He is running MyBattery, which tells him that the voltage drops from 7.x when
  21. charging to 6.x when he pulls the charger.  MyBattery also tells him that he
  22. has about 1 hour of use on a 'fully charged' battery.  He had this problem
  23. with the original battery and charger, but he's using a new battery and new
  24. charger (from the Apple dealer) now, and he has the same problems as
  25. before.

  27. I have read a post or two from folks complaining about the lead-acid battery
  28. performance of the PB100's, and it seems like my brother's problems are not
  29. unique.  Does anyone have 1) similar experiences, 2) any semi-detailed
  30. technical information about what the battery behavior should be, or 3) any
  31. work-around ideas (3rd party lead-acid or nicad batteries,
  32. power-conditioning chargers, small animal sacrifices, etc.)
