- Hello, all--
-
- I am ready to buy more memory for my classic II; I am using Rotate This for
- *large* PICT files in PM4.2, and it now wants 8.5M of RAM to do its job!
- (the picts are 300dpi scans of data traces, and my , they are large).
-
- Now, here is my question: I have read that the classic II has 2, 4, 6 or 10M
- of ram possible, on the basis of it having 2M on the motherboard and 2 slots
- that can accomodate 1, 2, or 4M simms in pairs, giving the above totals.
-
- I have just heard it suggested that in fact the classic II needs an adapter
- to handle extra RAM, analogous to the LC machines. Which is truth?
-
- also, I have been playing with VM. I notice that I can set VM as high
- as I like, well over 10M if I choose and have the disc space available.
- So, my questions are also
-
- --do simms come as 8M units, or is the next size up 16M?
-
- --what would happen if I attempted to install a pair of 8 or 16M simms in
- the machine, and turned 32 bit on? Would I still only see 10M, or would
- the full amount of memory be addressable (as it appears to be with xs VM)?
-
- Thanks for any help!
