  11.     With the amount of money you are going to spend on upgrades (especially the
  12. FDHD, the are drive and the accellerator) I would seriously consider buying a
  13. Classic ][ (or a Performa 200) if you feel that a 16MHz 68030 (with 16bit data
  14. path not 32) would do the job for you.  You can get a Brainstorm accellerator
  15. for the SE installed for about $250.  That will bring you up to the speed of a
  16. Classic ][ (give or take under different circumstances).  The FDHD upgrades
  17. are expensive ($387 from an authorized Apple dealer in NH... I'm sure you can
  18. find these for less).  Max RAM on the SE is 4 megabytes, if you need it you
  19. can go to 10 megabytes on the Classic ][.  If you upgrade your SE to 4 megabytes
  20. of RAM that will cost about $90..  You will need a tool kit to open the SE,
  21. less than $20.  A 40 megabyte internal hard drive is going to cost about $200.
  22. give or take.  Expect to pay from $75 to $135 more for an external hard drive.
  23.  Total cost is going to be at the very least $850.00.  System 7.1 is not that
  24. great unless you need the new world script features or you need to manage
  25. large amounts of fonts, use system 7.0.1 with the tuneup... it's free.  A Mac
  26. Classic ][ 4/40 (4megs of RAM, 40 megabyte hard drive, 1.44 meg floppy drive,
  27. 16MHz 68030, built in sound capabilities, comes with sytem 7.0.1) can be had
  28. from an authorized Apple dealer for $997.  I think the $147 difference would
