- I have had a great deal of experience researching speeding up my LC in the very
- same configuration. What it comes down to is a few options. You can throw in
- a card to equalize it with the LCII (add an 030), you can go to a high speed
- 030 accellerator, or you can throw in a really high speed 030 accellerator.
- The first option is provided by three companies that I know of. Extreme
- Systems, Total Systems and Daystar Digital. The prices were all competitive so
- I'd try calling them all (their numbers should be in MacWorld), but they cost
- around $150 or $200 with math coprocessor. If you're going higher the next
- step is a 32 or 33 Mhz 030. These are around $500-$650 (also option for math
- chip). Each company offers a version of this. As far as I know, above that
- is limited to Daystar Digital. They sell a 40Mhz and 50Mhz 030. These can go
- as high as $1100. I owuld suggest that you also consider selling your LC.
- It's worth around $800-$950. Where I am, University of California at
- Berkeley, they're selling SI's for under $1000. Look into your options.
