  24. Funny.. Neither of those are Intel Processors are they?  That means that
  25. one of "The Enemy" are gone.  All I have to do then is work out a cunning
  26. plan to Engineer the downfall of Microsoft and I will be a happy man.
  27. Especially as it is looking extremely like Microsoft (another of "The
  28. Enemy") are trying their hardest to slay poor Intel.  Now why is it that
  29. Intel is selling ethercards?  Could it be they still need to sell
  30. something once the the 8088 based processors can no longer compete with the
  31. new generation processors.

  33. The P5 may be dual issue, but the rumours I heard said that the
  34. instructions could only execute simultaneously if they didn't modify the
  35. flags.  Also it has 4 registers and they still aren't general purpose.  Now
  36. I defy you to come up with a set of wholly useful instructions that will
  37. work with these restrictions in parallel.  I think you can count them on
  38. one hand.  Now this of course means that when they build the 32 instruction
  39. at once version, it will still only actually manage to get about 1-2
  40. instructions per cycle on average.

  42. I dislike Intel and Microsoft.  My previous post was an anti Intel Post and
  43. has nothing to do with Microsoft.  I abuse them enough and I figured it was
  44. time to gloat about the fact that the PC clone is finally coming to the end
  45. of its days.

  47. If you think windoze and a pc are better than a mac then I am very happy
  48. for you because you can save a lot of money.  But please don't try to
  49. convert the rest of us, because we are very happy buying horribly
  50. overpriced computers from a monopolistic company.  I come in to day,
  51. brimming with excitement at the prospect of using my macintosh all day.  I
  52. like seeing the sickly sweet smiley face when I turn it on.  I like the way
  53. you get to sit around for ages while compiling your programs because my
  54. SE/30 isn't as fast as a 486DX2-66 which I could buy for the same price.  I
  55. DON'T CARE so please take this conversation to alt.religion.computers where
  56. it belongs.  Followups directed there.
