  11. Some firends of mine recently purchased a laserwriter LS and have
  12. discovered to their dismay that it destroyed their first toner
  13. cart. within a few weeks by scratching a stripe through the surface
  14. of the drum. The printer then made big black lines on everything.
  15. Their dealer gave them a new cartridge, and the same thing is
  16. happening to this one.

  18. Is this a known problem of the printer or the cartridge? I looked
  19. for any obvious protrusions which might be causing the scratches,
  20. but saw no clear candidates.
