- This sounds like the same problem I had. It turned out to be a bad
- high voltage capacitor, a common problem according to our computer
- repair people. Apple published a bulletin (to authorized repair
- personnel) which said they would reimburse consumers for the repair cost
- if the monitor's serial number (or was it the capacitor's? -- its been a
- while and I'm a bit fuzzy) fell within a certain range. I qualified and
- Apple reimbursed me for my repair bill. I think this this program only
- lasted for a few months and has since expired.
