- ...although unlike film sequels, I think this may be more interesting than
- the original (it certainly is frustrating enough!)
-
- My SE has occasionally been freezing on startup, just before inits get loaded.
- Also, the mouse and keyboard will occasionally stop working, though the mac
- itself keeps going. I found I could solve the problem by bending the mouse
- cord a certain way, but before I bought a replacement mouse I investigated
- a little more and found that the mouse worked fine on a different mac (this
- one a IIci) regardless of the mousecord position. Hmm... I borrowed another
- mouse, and had the same problem happen, down to the same bend. Which made
- me think that the real problem was in the mouse _port_, and bending the cable
- was really just bending the port the right way. Except regardless of which
- port the mouse is in, whether it goes through the keyboard or directly into
- the mac, even using a different keyboard, the problem persists.
- Any ideas on what might be happenning?
-
- Perplexedly,
- Jim
