I'm using FileMaker Pro to make a Database for a large class of
students I'm teaching (abt 180 students). I've been able to make
several different layouts, for different purposes. The first layout is
an individual student's record, with comments on his different papers
& tests. The second layout is a record of who who has or hasn't handed
in a given work (using if(x,y)). The third one is the one that's
giving me trouble, and why I ask for help.

This third onI've included a grand total summary at the end of this
layout. In the summary, I've figured out how to make count of all the
grades issued,  but I also want to make count of a the total count of
grades of each kind of grade issued, where A is greater than 80, B
is between 70-79, c between 60-69, e between 50-59, and zero-to-e is
obviously zero to 49.  This has taken several days of my time to
figure out, & still no progress is shown. How do I define a field to
look at all the fields (called "Overall Grade") and count the number
in each category? Anyone?  Please respond directly, as I don't
subscribe to this Newsgroup. I appreciate it.
