- A while ago someone posted a question that went something like this:
-
- "How do I get FileMaker to go to a layout in another database via an on screen
- button"
-
- I responded with a suggestion that perhaps having FileMaker send an AppleEvent
- to itself would solve this problem. It will not.
-
- However, it is possible, with FileMaker Pro 2.0, to activate a script within
- another FileMaker database. This can be implemented by tieing your on-screen
- button with a script that will activate a script in the target database.
- Thus, when you press the button, the other database will be activated, brought
- to the foreground, and the layout defined by the script in the target database
- will be displayed.
