- I am the system manager for a group of scientists doing research into
- high-energy physics. We are currently updating our transparency
- creation methods, mainly by purchasing a color PostScript printer. In
- the past drawing packages like Adobe Illustrator and Microsoft Word
- have been used to create transparencies, but now we would like to look
- into a presentation software package made for making the task easier.
-
- The transparencies will mainly be used for scientific talks and
- lectures. The following list of requirements should be met:
-
- (a) Ease of use (the main requirement!).
-
- (b) Able to handle mathematical equations, possibly by
- incorporating images from a package like Microsoft Word's
- Equation Writer.
-
- (c) Able to produce plots, especially those geared towards
- science (rather than business).
-
- (d) Able to incorporate EPS images and those produced by the
- AppleScan software.
-
- Which presentation software package do you recommend, and why? I am
- very interested in the strengths and weaknesses of each. Do you know
- of any good comparisons of presentation software packages?
-
- Please respond to me at my email address (lishka@dxcern.cern.ch). If
- there is interest, I will post a summary to this newsgroup. Thanks!
