  11. I am currently using Filemaker Pro 1.0, but plan on upgrading to
  12. 2.0 pretty soon, so if you know an answer that only works in 2.0
  13. please tell me anyway.

  15. Here is my question:

  17. I currently have a filemaker document that contains a bunch of peoples
  18. names and other data.  I have a First Name field and a Last Name
  19. field.  I want to have to computer automatically verify that the person
  20. is not already in the file.  There is no option for this when I make a full-
  21. name field that just concatenates the first and last name fields together.
  22. I don't really want to make the Full Name field the field where I
  23. enter the data, since it is hard to pick out the first and last names
  24. out of that field when some names have "Jr." or "Sr." at the end or
  25. when some names have middle initials and some do not.  Does any one
  26. know a work around, or do I have to just do a find before every new
  27. record I make?
