- Dear colleagues,
- we have problems running a Postscript printer in the following
- configuration:
- Motorola System V/88 R32V3.1
- LP model ptnnx with MODEL=ptLW
- Apple Laserwriter IIf via serial interface
- the printer is also being fed from Mac machines through
- its Localtalk interface
- Problems:
- 1. print jobs stall in most cases: lpstat displays "...printing.."
- but nothing is printed
- 2. ps shows waiting process "csoffset"
- 3. lock files in /tmp are not always cleaned up
- 4. the model uses commands /usr/bin/{psflush,csoffset}
- not documented anywhere.
-
- Questions:
- Did we overlook something?
- Does anybody have this or a similar setup running correctly?
- Should we rather use other software for spooling to this printer?
- Anybody have experiences with running CAP (Columbia Appletalk
- Protocol for Unix machines; we also have a LaserwriterIIg
- to do this) for this purpose?
-
- Thanks in advance for any hint,
- Hans Mau.
