  12. I ran across a good deal on a Bondwell 486SLC notebook
  13. computer today, and I thought I would pass the info
  14. along to the rest of you since I know a good many of
  15. you are looking for a good deal on something like this.
  16. (--especially in light of some of the more recent net
  17.    for sale posts...but that's another story)

  20.     Bondwell 486SLC
  21.     25 mHz
  22.     2 meg RAM
  23.     80 meg HD
  24.     >9" Screen (Can't remember what the salesman said- I
  25.                 haven't seen it yet)
  26.     Ext. 1.44 meg floppy
  27.     4.7 lbs (not counting floppy--don't know if it
  28.              includes the battery)
  29.     Battery life- didn't ask

  31. ANYWAY, the price is $1300 (credit card price)

  33. So I ordered one!  Considering that I've seen 20 mHz 386sx
  34. notebooks that weigh more with an asking price of $1500 or
  35. so on the net (not faulting them for trying- so please reduce
  36. the temperature on your flame thrower), I thought it was a
  37. sensational deal.  These are probably refurbished units, but
  38. you still get a warranty...This didn't concern me so I didn't
  39. ask.

  45. They charged about $30 for UPS ground shipping/insurance from
  46. CA to KY.

  48. THIS HAS NOT BEEN ADVERTISED YET, SO THERE SHOULD BE PLENTY IN
  49. STOCK.  THEY WILL GO FAST ONCE ADVERTISED--most of Tredex's stuff
  50. is gone rather quickly.  I missed out on the 486DX/33 Tower system
  51. with 130 meg HD & 4 meg RAM for $899 that I wanted...
