- Be aware: Librex is undergoing bankruptcy proceedings, as I understand it.
- Have you definitely heard that another company will be buying them out?
- (from Nippon Steel, presumably?) I bought a Librex this summer almost exactly
- like the one you describe from a local dealer (CompUSA) for $1800. Wish I'd
- waited till Christmas! :-| Its a very good machine. I've had no
- complaints about my machine, except for the streaking of hi-contrast images
- that occurs on all the < $2500 notebooks. It's reliable, and compatible
- enough to run Linux (free UNIX- see comp.os.linux).
-
- My Librex package came with a 386SX/25, 5 Meg Ram, 80 Meg HD, 9600/2400 Fax
- Modem, Dos 5, Windows 3.1, Microsoft Works, WinFax software, an expansion slot,
- trackball, carrying case, battery; pretty much everything I wanted in a
- notebook PC.
