-
- Ok, no one seems to have come forward with information regarding Docking
- stations... someone out there must know more than I do, such as the pinouts
- of that 96 pin connector on that back of our laptops...
-
- Could everyone reading this group, please, take a sec, have a look in your
- laptop manual for the PINOUT for the EXTERNAL EXPANSION BUS. If I can get
- ahold of it, I'll start to build one for my NBCC 386 Laptop and post the
- instructions to the net. It should be a simple matter, and from what I have
- seen of two docking stations (From a distance really), they are just bus
- expanders with a power supply to handle the extra load.
-
- I have a could of 4 slot mini motherboards (Has no CPU, just 4 slots and a
- power supply connector) so I can use them to experiment on.
-
- I have priced out docking stations, they are all over the $500 mark here
- in Canada, and basically the same in the US, this is NUTS! When they sell
- 386 33mhz motherboards, complete, for $136....
-
- Lets get together one this one and get a info-sheet/faq made up on how to
- build your very own docking station for well below $100, kinda catchy eh!
