- We are about to chuck an IBM PGD (Professional Graphics Display) into
- the trash here. But before I let them do it, I'm trying to use it as VGA
- monitor. PGD/PGA was IBM's first stab at Analog display technology.
-
- The pin in/outs of the PGD/PGA are very close to the VGA but not exact.
-
- There's a correspondence of the red, green , blue and returns.
- Where the PGA is composite sync, vga is horizontal sync, and
- the mode control is where vert sync is.
-
- Can a 15 pin to 9 pin converter be created? The other pins on the
- VGA not accounted for are the Monitor ID BITs (1,1,2) on pins 11,12 & 4.
-
- Better yet, does anyone know of an outfit that has 'created' one of these
- connectors and sells them? It would be worth paying $50.00 for something
- that works.
-
- any help would be appreciated. Please respond directly as I don't think
- there's a lot of interest in this area. I will summarize if I get some
- good information worth passing on.
-
- thanks ...... joe.f.
