- The 8-bit is enforced on recording and wave playback, but I think the
- MIDIs are played using the 16-bit patches. They are indeed played in only
- mono with the Windows drivers, though. I've also noticed that the
- Windows MIDI driver is much less polyphonic than playmidi, which doesn't
- even give 32-voice polyphony. Gravis better be releasing new drivers and
- other software to take advantage of the GUS soon.
