- I haven't seen an FAQ lately, so here goes.
-
- I would like to purchase a soundcard. I am not interested in much more than
- regular Soundblaster level functionality. I would, however, like to use
- it as a CD-ROM interface in the future. I do not want to deal with the SBPro
- proprietary interface.
-
- The Pro-Audio Spectrum Plus seems to fit these requirements based on what
- is written on the package. Before I buy, though, I would like to know:
-
- Is the PAS Plus hardware compatible with the SB, or does it require
- a TSR to perform the emulation?
-
- Is the SCSI interface standard and good enough to use to run a SCSI
- CD-ROM drive and a SCSI Hard drive?
-
-
- Gravis is out. I don't want TSR's and I don't want to buy add-ons.
- If there is nothing that fits my requirements, I'm just going to buy
- a plain SCSI interface and a plain Soundblaster. A combined card
- would be preferable, especially since the PAS-Plus is approximately
- the same price as a plain 16-bit SCSI interface.
-
- I'd appreciate any help you can give me.
-
- I'll summarize if any interest is expressed.
-
- Thanks,
-
