  13. I haven't seen an FAQ lately, so here goes.

  15. I would like to purchase a soundcard.  I am not interested in much more than 
  16. regular Soundblaster level functionality.  I would, however, like to use
  17. it as a CD-ROM interface in the future.  I do not want to deal with the SBPro
  18. proprietary interface.

  20. The Pro-Audio Spectrum Plus seems to fit these requirements based on what
  21. is written on the package.  Before I buy, though, I would like to know:

  23. Is the PAS Plus hardware compatible with the SB, or does it require
  24. a TSR to perform the emulation?
  25.  
  26. Is the SCSI interface standard and good enough to use to run a SCSI
  27. CD-ROM drive and a SCSI Hard drive?

  30. Gravis is out.  I don't want TSR's and I don't want to buy add-ons.
  31. If there is nothing that fits my requirements, I'm just going to buy
  32. a plain SCSI interface and a plain Soundblaster.  A combined card
  33. would be preferable, especially since the PAS-Plus is approximately
  34. the same price as a plain 16-bit SCSI interface.
