- If a single voice can be panned in increments between right and left,
- then I would consider that voice to be "stereo" since you can reproduce
- the spatial position of an instrument that way. If you would like,
- a single, incrementally pannable voice is akin to having two channels
- with independent volumes.
-
- However, I am no longer certain whether the GUS has 32 independently
- and incrementally pannable voices or just 32 voices which can be
- independently placed left or right. If the latter case is true, then
- I don't consider the GUS to be 32 voice stereo.

- Correction. The GUS is, at least, capable of 16 stereo voices if we
- assume that the 32 voices can only be placed right or left, thus
- requiring that we pair them to reproduce true stereo.
-
- BTW, anybody considering implementing temporal displacements between
- the left and right channels to reproduce "truer" stereo?
