  26.     I tried to reproduce your problem on my GUS yesterday.  It turned 
  27. out that the factory setting for the DMA channel was the cause of the 
  28. problems with Star Control II (music sounds weird, wrong patches played, 
  29. static, etc).  The factory setting is DMA 1.  I changed it to DMA 5 and 
  30. everything works just fine.  Try it...
