- Well, I'm having some problems. I can't get SBOS to work, and adding RAM makes
- Star Control ][ mess up. Secifically, when SBOS is run, nothing can tell that
- it's been loaded. Nothing will recognize the emulator. SBOS does play that
- sound saying it's been installed, but no go. (Try "sbos -d", fun eh?) Also,
- loading SBOS with the -x3 parameter locks the computer (still have C-A-D, tho)
- Now, this isn't crucial since I still have my original Sound Blaster (version
- 1.0!) which happily coexists with the GUS, but I would like to try this.
-
- The other problem occurs with Star Control ][. Adding 256k to the card doesn't
- seem to bother it, but add another 256k and eventually it'll start messing
- up the music, add the last 256k and it'll start messing up immediately.
- It'll mess up loading the samples for the songs, and mess up the single note
- at the beginning save/load/quit menu. This seems really strange to me, add
- memory to find the bugs.
-
- Now for the relative information: 386sx 20Mz Intel chipset, basic VGA,
- WD1006V-SR2 Hard/Floppy drive controller(RLL) with 2 drives 2 floppys,
- and a Multi-I/O card (which isn't the problem, I took it out and it
- did the same thing). MSDOS 5.0.
-
- I've tried all the settings I could think of to solve these problems (with
- the SB NOT in, mind you!), and nothing worked.
-
- Please, although it's not a priority, I'd like to get these problems fixed.
- Any help would be GREATLY appreciated! Thanks.
-
- BTW, I've been able to grab the music out of Star Control ][. If only we
- had a native GUS MOD player!
