- I disagree about your premise/focus on price considerations. My sense
- is that rpices are gonna go up/down - vary by hundred $bucks or two,
- except for really CHEAP machines - which I wouldn't trust 'till I
- checked out thoroughtly. My sense is that chep machines maybe use
- cheap components - odd balls, or maybe have minimized mfg costs by
- doing non-standard things.

- Me, I'd look at (1) competitive prices; (2) Reliability out of
- the box; (3) Good service & tech support; (4) Rapid turnaround on
- repairs/replacement parts; (5) Competitive performance; (6)
- Guaranteed software compatability; and (7) Upgradability - CPU,
- BIOS, etc., etc.
- I'm not sure about priorities of these. But I am sure that $price
- -related factors ought not to be first/foremost.
