- There are three excellent programs (two of which were written by one of
- my best friends). The first is called BATENV; it prompts the user for
- data which it stores in an environment variable (it does some other
- neat things too). Next is BATGET which sets an errorlevel based on
- user input. BATGET accepts single chars or words from a list. BATGET
- is MUCH more powerful than ASK. Finally there is some other program
- out there called STRINGS (I don't know who wrote it). STRINGS
- can parse environment vars for substrings. BATENV and BATGET (written
- by my friend) should be available via CompuServe. I will ask my
- friends permission to post them to some place like Splicer. Sorry I
- forgot where I got STRINGS, but it's probably on Splicer
- (splicer.cba.hawaii.edu) or WuArchive (wuarchive.wustl.edu).
