- I recently got myself a pair of 3COM 3C503 Etherlink II cards at a flea
- market. All they came with was a disk that looked like it was an upgrade
- kit. Still for $50.00 / card, I'm not complaining too loud.
-
- My problem is that I have no idea what drivers to install with what
- parameters to allow me to network my two PC's together. I've decided
- that the cards will be at port address 02a0h, and that I want to use
- IRQ 5 and DMA 3 (not the defaults). For the curious, the default settings of
- port address 300, IRQ 3 and DMA 1 are all spoken for, and are not
- changeable.
-
- So, assuming that I want to make the C and D drives on the one system show
- up on the other (and vice versa), what magic do I need to add to my
- config.sys and autoexec.bat files to make it happen. I found some likely
- looking files (ETH503.SYS, 2ETH503.SYS) on the diskette, plus ELNKII.DOS
- which looks like a .EXE (starts with a plausible looking header), and some
- files in a NOVELL/ODI subdirectory called 3c503.com and 3c503.sys.
-
- Any ideas what I need to do with any of this to make it all work?
