- There was an announcement in the latest PC-WEEK about a new upgradeable
- motherboard from AMAX Engineering. I called them up and had them send
- me a fax of the specs. Doesn't look to bad.
-
- Handles all 386DX,486SX, 486DX, 486DX2 chips (not 386SX). Up to 64MB ram,
- comes standard with 128k cache. PLUS- it has two VESA-LOCAL BUS slots.
-
- Price looked to be about $240 or so (without CPU, but with 128K cache I think)
-
- Unfortunately, the guy I talked to said that they were out of stock until
- about 2nd week in Jan (when they would be getting a 5000 order shipment).
-
- I also seemed to get the hint that the board might accept the P5 when it comes
- out (who knows).
-
- If anybody wants their number, send me some email and I will look for it (don't
- have it right off hand).
