- Gee, why does dos not let you use more than 32 megs on a partition...

- a lot of people think os/2 has a better gui than the mac
- people have also said that while its initial learning curve (first day
- or so) is more difficult than the macs, it is much more intuitive and
- easy to use afterwards, not to mention more usefull and flexible
- Of course, windows just sucks...

-
- Big deal? Well that's like saying the 68000 doesn't compare to the
- 486, and it's not a big deal because it wasn't as buggy as the 486
- when the 486 came out. The migration from the 386 to the 486 was a
- *lot* easier and smoother than the migration from the '030 based macs
- to the Quadra's.
-
- What counts now is today, when Intel is making 486's that blow the
- doors off of '040's, because they can clock double, and are pushing
- the pace, whereas Motorola seems to be twiddling their thumbs. When
- is that 40mhz '040 coming out? How long overdue are we here? Intel
- is coming out with the 486dx2/80. mhz for mhz, an '040 will beat a
- 486, but Intel can push the 486 higher and higher, while Motorola
- may never be able to clock double the '040, regardless of whether
- they want to or not. (This is has to do with the '040's internal
- architecture, and has nothing to do with Motorola's chip designing
- prowess, assuming they ever get off their buts and finish doing
- something with the 680x0 line - Should I upgrade the 2ci to the
- PowerPC or should I wait for a Radius Rocket/060)

- A monitor would be nice. So would a keyboard. Don't count on a
- decent configuration for less than $2200. (2si 5/80, 14" monitor,
- keyboard)
