: It's not likely that a monitor or video card makes the noise because none of
: them have speakers. However, the intermodulation of frequencies inside PC
: may cause PC's sounding devices to make noise. Two possible sources of noise
: are PC's speaker and modem.
: It could be the problem of modem. Disconnect the modem to see if the noise
: still exists. My PC used to sqeal before I replaced the cheap modem with
: a better one.

On the contrary, Monitors (and TVs) have been known for a long time to produce a very high pitch squeal. (due to the electronic inside them). However, a lot of people are unable to high these squeals because they occur just on the upper
limit of the human hearing range.
If the noise *IS* from the monitor then tough, I do not know of a way to stop it(I returned my original monitor to the supplier because the squeal was so
annoying). It is unlikely that the noise is from the internal bleeper as these require a reasonable current to drive them. Try the monitor on a different
machine if you can, as this will prove whether or not it is the monitor.
