  23. Not just virtual memory, but its own memory management alto-
  24. gether.

  26. There are crashes and there are crashes. When most apps crash 
  27. they usually cause a "GPF" and the rest of Windows goes on its
  28. merry way. System 7 also seems to exhibit the same behavior
  29. (WP 2.1 seems to crash pretty often around here. Luckily it 
  30. has online backup.). When something quits responding to keyboard 
  31. input you can hit ctrl-alt-del and kill just the app. Under 
  32. System 7 you can hit cmd-option-ctrl-esc and it'll do the same 
  33. thing.

  35. Yes, both Windows and System 7 are more crash-prone than OS/2
  36. since they don't have memory protection. But one can also run
  37. into crash problems with OS/2 (the Novell requestor is a good 
  38. example).
