- Do you know how the WD2200 compares to the Seagate ST3283A, esp with
- re to noise? I was all set to get the Seagate when the guy at HDI
- told me about the WD2200. I want a drive that is quiet (this is for
- home use, and I am practically sitting on top of the drive) *and* of
- course fast and reliable!
-
- Also, what is the MTBF for the WD, just out of curiosity? The HDI
- person told me 200,000 hours but I think it's more like 100,000 for
- the WD and 200,000 for the Seagate.
-
- I wonder why WD can offer a two year warranty vs a one year warranty
- on the Seagate.
-
- Thanks for any info.

- PS : What stability problem with the Maxtor?
