-
- That is unfortunate that they treat their customers so badly. In any event,
- I think ATI's pathetic support for OS/2 2.0 and full blown support for
- windoze M-T is really disgraceful. I don't see why they can't write drivers
- for BOTH products. The two are very similar in design, and I'm sure what they
- are learning from writing NT code can be applied to development of OS/2 drivers
-
- It comes down to a simple matter of economics. ATI must ask themselves if there
- is a market for OS/2 users, and if it will somehow be profitable to them to
- write drivers. Clearly, they think this is not so. Unfortunately, this seems
- to be a prevalent attitude among software developers. You would be surprised,
- however, at the power of the pen. (or the electronic pen too! ;)) Until
- recently, I had thought that it wouldn't be necessary to get involved in this
- grass roots movement to show these manufacturers that YES there is a large
- number of OS/2 users out there, and YES it will be profitable for you to
- write software for OS/2! I know I shouldn't have to do this, but for whatever
- reason, this appears the way that it is going to be.
