- The color of color 7 (ordinary non-bright white text) in DOS windows
- with 256 color modes, "allow changing palette", is is the same as
- color 8, dark gray. This makes text hard to read and renders colors
- 7 and 8 the same color.

- then switch back to DOS windowed, the up and down arrow icons
- are solid black .. the cursor is too at first, but it eventually recovers.
