- Actually, another shareware solution exists. Get a copy of ASPITAPE.
- It is available on Compuserve's IBMHW forum, as well as Adaptec's BBS.
- (If you can't find it, try contacting the author at
- marva4!gks1!greg@ucdavis.edu.) It uses the ASPI driver (ASPI4DOS.SYS
- with the 1542B) to make the tape look like any DOS device. I use it
- with the MKS cpio and tar all the time. The tapes can be read on any
- Unix system or similarly equipped DOS computer. It really works
- great. Highly recommended.
