- HELL

- I had just returned from battle, my crossbow had taken enough punishment to
- down a fralathi but somehow it had gotten me home. With nothing but R&R on
- my mind, I landed only to learn I was to launch one more time. A strike
- force was moving in, with two heavy cruisers and some fighters. We had to
- move fast.
-
- With no other choice, my furry friend and I launched into the abyss with
- torpedo laden sabers. We were about half way to the strike force when we
- encountered three enemy fighters. They were being pursued by a recent
- acquaintance of mine and his wingman. Together we easily dispatched the
- fighters and headed off towards Armageddon.
-
- I knew it would be an impossible battle but I thought we could win. Although
- my comrades didn't know it, I had done this before. Some warped twist of
- fate had me caught in a loop that had me fighting the same losing battle over
- and over again. But this time I had new information!
-
- As we approached the strike force I ordered my wing men to strike as I swung
- around 180 degrees and hit my afterburners. My men fought with valor and
- took out three enemy ships before, one by one, I heard their chilling voices
- announce the inevitable ejections.
-
- I was alone. I destroyed one enemy fighter with my turret and another with
- my main guns. The skies were silent...for the moment! I began my attack
- run, my new information led me to believe this would be easy, not so.
-
- As I locked torpedoes and eased toward the first capital ship, its main guns
- let fly. I dodged a salvo and began another run after losing lock. This
- time I was not so lucky.
-
- My forward section took a direct hit, devastating shields and armor as well
- as destroying target lock.
-
- I followed the usual scenario and fired away with my forward guns until my
- ship was blasted to pieces again.
-
- Victory? Maybe tomorrow, or the day after, but first I will get hockey
- tickets. So I can watch them skate, IN HELL WHEN IT FREEZES OVER!
