- So, having finished the "regular" game I still find myself addicted to the
- melee version of this game. Heck, either part alone would have been well worth
- the price of the game, both is amazing. Melee still has a lot of replay value,
- but I found myself really missing the strategic game from Star Control 1,
- especially now that there are all these interesting new ships thrown into the
- mix. My friends and I had fun fighting each other with equal-point Melee teams,
- but that only goes so far. So we hacked out a simple strategic game that can be
- played with hex-paper and some simple counters that does a good job of capturing
- a lot of the "feel" of Star Control 2 extended to a strategic game. It'd take
- some doing to put the rules down in self-explanatory text, but I'd be willing to
- do it if people out there would be interested in hearing about it. Well?
-
- Amazing game. Anyone out there know how to hack the digitized sounds to replace
- them with your own?
