- CF>Just out of curiosity, I want to know why *anybody* buys a game when
- CF>it is first released.
-
- My personal reason is that I have absolutely no patience whatsoever.
-
- Also, I find that 96% of the time, buying a game is a crap shoot. Unless
- you've played the game on a friend's machine, you're probably going to
- get burned one way or the other. Either the game is going to be buggy,
- or it will be a dog, dispite the spiffy illustrations and descriptions on
- the cover.
-
- I'll be waiting at the software store when the truck pulls up to deliver
- Ultima Underworld II. The first version was a great game (IMHO), and I'll
- take my chances. A buggy UU-II will probably be more entertaining for me
- than most of the perfectly working games out on the market.
-
- And if Sid Meiers announces that he's working on a Railroad Tycoon II, I'll
- PAY to be a beta-tester (even an alpha-tester)!
-
- Hey, if we were all so sensible, we'd be doing more productive things than
- playing computer games.
