- Yes!
-
- I think the recent popularity for VGA Planets shows that PBEM gaming
- (especially PBEM multiple-opponent gaming) will be a growing field in the
- future. Imagine: A multi-player Civilization game played by email.
-
- Modem head-to-head play is important (and I believe will become more of
- a necessary option in future releases because of consumer demand) in
- real-time games like Falcon 3.0 (and any other flight sim), Populous,
- and the like. For turn-based games, PBEM is the BEST way to play a
- long distance game. Game companies need merely to look at the PBM
- industry or the multi-player games on the large networks to see the
- demand for this option.
-
- Personally, I'm disappointed that Conquered Kingdoms shipped without the
- PBEM option. In fact, until they support that option, I doubt that I
- will be buying the game.
-
- Does anyone have any news of any other games that plan to support PBEM?
