- : Hi all. Just wanted to post a note as well to see if there is any
- : interest in collecting info from players who want to find a modem
- : opponent for certain games in their area. There are more and more
- : good games coming out now that support modem play, yet the feature is
- : pretty much worthless if you can't find anyone to hook up with.
-
- In addition to modeming, I wouldst like to suggest that we also push for
- more play-by-email gaming (PBEM). It has occured to me that Internet is
- very well suited for this. Even for games which do not have PBEM
- features, one canst zip up save files and send them to each other. For
- example, there are a lot of wargames out there that would be suitable for
- such purposes, like Second Front, Conflict: Korea etc..
-
- : Game Bytes magazine would like to be a clearinghouse of sorts for this
- : type of information. We can act as a 'bulletin board' to get players
- : in the same geographical area to find out about each other and make
- : that connection. If you're interested in this idea, please send me
- : some email, or let's continue this debate publically.
-
- Aye, that wouldst be good. Also, given that GameBytes is now the defacto
- gaming mag on Internet, thou might even want to consider hosting some PBEM
- tournaments or such.
-
- I don't have time to elaborate at the moment (lots of work!!), but if thou
- and other chaps like to discuss PBEM further, please continue this thread.
