- I've just started playing this engrossing game, but I'm having a
- lot of trouble with a jump. In the far southwest, there's a ramp
- with a gap in it. (The gap has a rock to make sling ammo in it)
- Anyway, I've repeatedly swum down to this point (I've been trying
- to open the Ankh room door, and keep having to swim back to the
- main part. (Oddly enough, I can jump to the door no problem. _I_
- _don't_know_why_!)
- How do you jump? The manual says hold down the left button, then
- "click" the right button. The manual also says that that's how you
- jump in place. So, sometimes I run up and jump in place, sometimes
- I don't jump, sometimes I run up, release the left as I hit the right
- and get a message saying "you see a rough wall". I've done it, but
- it's trial and error with no rhyme or reason to it. How, properly,
- do you do a running jump?
- Also, fighting: other than picking your stroke type, and waiting
- until the orb goes green, and chasing the thing you're fighting,
- is there any skill to combat? I can figure why some blows land
- and others don't- the animation of "openings" to cut doesn't jibe
- with what seems to follow when you swing.
