  17. Yep, they work fine.  You have to make sure that the printer and the 48 are
  18. set to EXACTLY the same parameters.  Try this:
  19.  
  20.     2400 baud (you can speed it up once you are sure it's working) 
  21.     8 data bits, 1 stop bit, no parity (that's NONE)
  22.     no handshaking (not XON/XOFF, not ENQ/ACK, not RTS/CTS)
  23.     (On the 48:  IR/wire should be "wire")

  25. You may also need to get another cable to connect your 48 to your printer,
  26. one that swaps the TXD and RXD lines.
