- === ANNOUNCING ===
- THE 1992 PPC/CHHU/HPX/ETC CHRISTMAS PARTY AND GIFT EXCHANGE
- === Friday 18 December 1992 ===
- 7:30 pm - ??:?? am
-
- The members of the Southern California HP 48 & 95 User's Club (no
- membership dues, no newsletter; just meetings on an irregular basis at
- random locations) will be having our annual Christmas Party and Gift
- Exchange at Harry Bertucelli's home (as we've done for the past
- umpteen years):
-
- Harry Bertucelli
- 123 S Reese Place
- Burbank, CA 91506
- (818) 846-6390
-
- We'll rendezvous at Harry's place at 7:30 PM, and soon afterwards go
- out to a local restaurant for dinner together, then return to Harry's
- for the party, which is open-ended.
-
- Gift Exchange: Bring anything HP-handheld-related, preferably not
- terribly valuable (rare is nice) and DON'T WRAP IT. The gift exchange
- is done in a bizarre way: Everybody draws numbers from a hat, and then
- all go in that order and pick any one gift they wish from the pile, OR
- on your turn you can opt to take away the gift from somebody who
- already picked, in which case they lose their gift (to you), and they
- must pick a new gift from the pile. It's nutty. It's hilarious.
- It's Richard Nelson's idea (betcha could tell!). Gifts have ranged
- from an old, beat-up HP-55 Owner's Manual (I still have it!) to a
- complete HP-41 system (Gary Friedman still has it!). The gifts have
- begun to wander away from being HP-related for the past few years,
- which nobody minded, since it ups the V-factor.
-
- All HP 48 and HP 95 enthusiasts are welcome. Please call Richard
- Nelson at EduCALC if you plan on attending, so that a restaurant
- reservation can be made, and he can give you directions to Harry's
- place:
-
- Richard Nelson
- EduCALC
- (800) 677-7001 or (714) 582-2637
- Mon-Fri 8am-5pm
-
- Free Goodies Disks (the real things!) for all who bring blank high-
- density floppies along! Bring an extra set of batteries, too, and be
- ready for some heavy-duty software swapping. See you there!
